About Dr Boothe
A native Texan, Doctor Boothe received his undergraduate degree from Rice University with honors. From 1983 until 1986, he was at the Texas Tech University Health Science Center for his residency at the Department of Ophthalmology. This was followed by a fellowship in the Cornea-External Disease Division of the Jules Stein Eye Institute at the University of California at Los Angeles Medical Center where he specialized in refractive surgery.
Before choosing ophthalmology as his specialty, Dr Boothe worked as an emergency room physician. He was the director of the Plano Emergency Center, as well as the director of the Angelo Association Emergency Center in San Angelo, Texas. Dr Boothe’s fellowship and education prepared him to open his own practice. He chose Plano as the site for his clinic, Boothe Eye Care and Laser Center. From the day he opened his business in 1987, Dr Boothe was determined that his clinic would offer patients the highest-quality, most effective techniques for improving their vision. Now Dr Boothe has done over 113,000 LASIK procedures, more than any other eye doctor in the world.
